Why do we wait until spring to clean our closets?
That is the time of year we want to be outside!
Yet in the winter, when we need to find more activities to keep us busy, we put off tasks that might actually be fun.
Think about it, remember the last time you cleaned out an old box that sat around entirely too long? Usually there are pieces of our past that are fun to remember. When we sort through the kid’s clothes because the drawer won’t close any longer, it is time spent with the children. Often the words come “Oh, I remember when we bought this, you were just …” and the stories begin! Kids love hearing stories, whether it is about their past or yours, they absorb your memories and feel close to you.
So, take a look around. We all have a laundry list of “when I get time” items. Even if it is washing out the silverware drawer, finding the back of the coat closet, or daring to move the couch, get the family involved and make it a memory!
